Game Of Thrones - Sunday

  • I had to catch up on the premier last night thanks to the national champs. cool

    Two quick thoughts...

    (1) Had to watch this one twice. There's SO much going on, so many different factions. I think that's something the writers/directors have to be careful about moving forward. The story branches off in so many directions, it can be tricky to follow at times.

    (2) Dragons and giant wolves = pretty cool thumbsup

    What's your thought on the ending. Too much?

    My impression of that was "HOLY $4!T i can't believe they did that, and then realize the first season and say yeah, as expected."

    And this season is going to have so much factions. We didn't even see Arya's group, and Renly's group.

    Pretty sure we will hear of new factions as well. I am interested on how they are going to tell the story of 6-8 factions. It will be very challenging to them.

  • I thought episode 1 of season 2 was really good. Sure, the casual fan or first time viewer would have been bored through the middle of the episode, but there was so much character and story development it was ridiculous. Dude, when they started killing little bastard babies at the end, I was in shock, but it made the show more dark and real.

    i can also feel your itching need to have a discussion about it. I think you are hoping for the group to read the book and have discussion.

    hahaha I am on page 49 of first book.

    That's pretty much how it is. I picked the books up right after last season. While in between jobs I read them all. Can't wait until you all meet strong Belwas. He's a bad dude too.

    yeah, but none of them are truly the lead. I would agree with ned but no one else.

    Everyone else is pawn to development of the "king".

    These are my lead characters:
    Starks Family: Bran, Arya, and Jon Snow. (Bran being the critical)
    Lannister Family: It's the 3 Cersei, Jaime, and Tyrion. (I think Tyrion is the most important of this group)
    Targarians Family: Daenary

    Each of key shows speciality. As long as those 3 doesn't die, i think it will be fine. Development of those characters will be most intriguing to me.

    I am not sure if Jon Snow will represent a different group all together, which would be interesting. Depending on who his Mother is. I can't wait to find that out.

    Not sure how big Tullys, Baratheons, and Greyjoy will be in the story line. Seems like they are pawns as well.

    Cersei is an AWESOME character. She is a witch, she pisses me off..LOL so she is doing it right. I can't wait till she gets soo annoyed with Joffery and kill him off. HAHAHA

    You're in for a major treat. Won't say what I'm referring to, but I'd say you can figure it out. You will never know who it is until Martin reveals it.

    It was biblical. I think we're gonna see a lot more Arya next episode. Ironic there's one bastard left to kill and he's with her. I wonder is she'll get captured. They'll want to keep her alive so it shouldn't be too bad for her. Oh A thought!! That hurt!!! But what capturing her would put her back at the capital. Closer to Joffrey. Arya close to Joffrey = bad news for Joffrey. She's little and adorable but she studied swords and has killed someone already. I also don't think her teacher died. I think he'll be back at some point.

    I concur about the Red Witch!

    God I hate Cersei and her inbred bastard son Joffrey. Her other two kids are too bad. He's bat shit crazy like momma.

    Can't wait for Janos Slynt to find his way to the Wall. Tyrion taking out one of his sisters pawns right away!

    I thought I read somewhere before the season there will be 12. Not sure though. Series continues to stay true to the books down to the smallest of details.

    One difference is Theon's sister's name. Not sure why the change there but whatever.

    I think the relationship between Cersei and Tyrion is going to get heated. They have to do them battle every week.

    It does solve the myster of how Craster survives, but still much to learn about the Wights. Even after reading 5 books lol. This story throws all kinds of twists at you.

  • Not a bad episode tonight, I suppose. They're still setting up a lot of stuff. In that regard, I wish the season premier was a two-hour deal last week. It feels like they should be a little further along with some action going down.

    The last 3-4 minutes were pretty tight. You could tell that male babies thing was coming to a head.

  • I don't understand why everyone thinks Arya is a boy. She is obviously a girl lol I like the red witch but she's nothing compared to Khaleesi. Khaleesi needs to get busy!!! Her "guide" or whatever he is has been working her for 2 years. Make your move already dude!!! It's difficult to follow all the names but I'm worried about the guy that Rob Stark sent home to his father to ask for ships. Father definitely has something up his sleeve and his son is going to have a decision to make. And how terrible a trick is that for his sister to play on him? Doodling your sister? Eww. Just eww. I think Reny will join the Starks. They need each other to win. Reny will get the throne and all he has to give up is the north. I think he'll see the logic in that being better than being a corpse in a field. And according to the trailers Reny's wife(hot hot piece) plays a significant role. Smart move by Tyrion to get rid of that weasel. I think half his reasons was the reason he gave. I think the other half the reason he did it that he didn't say is punishment for betraying a noble guy like Ned Stark. Tyrion has already mentioned Ned Starks nobility a few times. He didn't like what happened to him at all.

    well it's like how you take a 600-700 page book and make it to a 2 hour movie. It rarely works.

    At least they are making it to 12 hours in this case. Actually it's like close to 900 pages.

    I thought to myself, they should make each episode 2 hours long. LOL, way too much to cover and they never get every one in the show. For example, no Joffery/Sansa, Rob/Cat, Renly Broth. However, the way book is written, probably no chapters of each of these characters.

    anyways, I want it to be longer!!
