Why is it always assumed that the government is involved... how would you feel if it were a manger scene on public property made up of real LIVE people? Christians should have the same rights to public property as anyone else... where they, also, have the right to exercise their freedom of religion. Having said that... I do NOT agree to any government sponsored display of one particular religion. I understand both sides of this debate... but again, I just think that some people are WAY too sensitive and intolerant of others. It all appears to be nothing more than childish whining to me... coming from spoiled brats who want everything "their" way. (and I mean that on BOTH sides). It's no different than something being displayed in public that "I" disagree with, but instead of crying about it, I realize and accept the fact that people are different in this world. I would never give them the personal satisfaction of thinking I was offended by it... and I don't start screaming and whining about those people trying to "force" their ways, habits or beliefs on me. Instead, I just ignore it and move on... like an intelligent, grown-up adult with common sense should.
We ALL should be more tolerant of others and learn to accept people for who they are... and not be so fast to judge others and make false, unwarranted accusations.

I just brought it up because it's the germ that started the fictitious war on Christmas.
Unlike you, I do not possess infinite tolerance. I don't want minarets or buddahs placed on public property even if that means symbols of my religion have to be left out too. But I have chosen not to protest that nearly every public facility in the nation, including every single room of the White House, is decorated with the Druid symbol of ever-lasting life at this time of year.

I just posted this to be humorous and jab a little. If you are offended well I dont give a damn one way or the other. I say Merry Christmas because I hope people are happy during the holidays. For me Christmas is a day that society picked to celebrate Jesus' birth so I go with that. Also for the materialization of the holiday some may want to do some research. It all came about because of Martin Luther not agreeing with the Catholics and their patronage of saints. If you dont like the way Christmas is done now blame Ze Germans.

Doesn't this belong in the political thread? I do get the annoyance of Christmas being blanked out. It's happening. It's not a liberal war on xmas though. That's just something the religious right scream about. It's political correctness run amock. Xmas is nothing but a commercialized day of materialism anyway. It's not about celebrating the birth of Christ. It might have been what it was about a long time ago. They should rename it "Boost The Economy Day" because that's all it is. Merry Economy Day everyone.
