You seem to be drunk, smoking crack or just plain stupid.

Clean it up, Hop. Uncalled for.

  • Wow, hadn't been over here in a while. First, the Reds add Marshall to the pen and now sign Madson! WOW!rockon

Secondly, hoptown is obviously a St. Louis Cards homer, nothing wrong with that, they are a great franchise. But....if he thinks Beltran will come even close to replacing Pujols in the lineup then he is sadly mistaken. Even if Beltran did put up similar numbers in some categories last year. You don't lose the best player in the game and not feel it. Pujols made everyone in the lineup better because no one ever wanted to face him. Beltran is a good player but doesn't strike fear in the heart of pitchers everywhere. Berkman? Which Berkman shows up for 2012, the 2011 model or the 2009-2010 model? Either one is likely.

The Cards will definitely be a pennant contender again but to ignore the Reds as a true contender is a mistake. Looks like Reds may be going all in this year after acquiring Latos, Marshall and Madson. Still need a LF and have to hope that the Francisco/Rolen 3B tandem will put up decent numbers. If so the Reds have a chance at a special year.

  • Very excited about the bullpen additions. They've gone from shaky to potentially one of the best in the NL almost overnight.

  • Me too Jeff. Guess we've seen the last of CoCo! I actually like Cordero if he would stay as a set up man; he's apparently a great mentor to the young Hispanic pitchers but he was way overpriced and always scary.

  • We have to get someone that can play the outfield, lol, right now on the 40 man roster we only have 4 outfielders, and one of them I've never heard of . . . But I'm really excited about the pitching additions. . . Pitchers and catchers report in 34 days. . . can't wait. . .

Love Miguel Cairo! Great guy off the bench. Izzy...not so much. LOL.

They got Ludwick for 2.5Mil. Good plug in for LF. Should be a decent platoon with Heisey. Don't ever expect him to put up the Silver Slugger numbers like he did a few years ago but he addresses a need and at the right price.

  • He isn't great. He isn't terrible. It's a decent pick up.

  • Yeah, we had to pick up someone...

  • He'll give you some decent at bats if he stays healthy. At the very worst he'll give you average numbers. With a higher ceiling if he has a good year. I don't see how someone could gush over the cards getting beltran and disregard the reds getting ludwick. At least Ludwick has a chance of playing 80 games. If Beltran plays more than 50 i'll french kiss a dirty ashtray.

    Obsessed much?

Check your facts on how much time Beltran has missed in his career. He missed no considerable time last year and prior to 3 seasons ago he never missed any significant time. He has played less than 140 games in a season twice in his career.

I wasn't bashing ludwick. Nobody can deny that jockety hasnt put an old cardinal touch on that team the last three years

  • Loved the Madson signing.

Lukewarm on Ludwick, outside of just needing a 4th OF for the roster,

Ludwick is proof positive any warm body can hit .300 if you bat him in front of Albert Pujols.

Since Ryan and Albert parted ways....well hes back to being Ryan Ludwick, which is to say your garden variety MLB platoon player / pinch hitter.

Im just amazed Dusty did politick for Juan Pierre, or the return of Corey Patterson for that matter.fingergun

  • I'm pretty "MEH" on Ludwick, but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt playing in the hitters graveyard otherwise known as Petco. He'll feel like he's playing in Williamsport, PA, coming to GABP.
