  • It wasn't my aim the sights were so off that I had to aim high and right almost to the shoulder from the 15 yd line and off paper at the 25. I hate baretta. I will never ever allow anyone in my family to own one of those POS.

  • For the record I am an expert rifle 51out of 65, sharpshooter pistol (as you can tell I had a bad day) and I won the pistol range for dcjs (department of criminal justice service) academy when I went to the law enforcement academy. I shot an overall of 97 % with pistol and shotgun combined.

They still carry 9 mil's and they are pathetic. Last time I qualled I had to offset aim completely off the paper at the 25 yrd line. There was some talk a couple years ago of going back to the 1911 but unfortunately they haven't.

Yeah... I remember having to aim crazy like that with my ,45 but I never thought the 9mm would have that problem.

  • Isn't the trend towards .40s now?

    DA23_rox

  • BTW Warmother... since you hated MP's so much, this should give you a sense of vendication
(if you're seeking some sort of sweet revenge). One of the first things I did when I got out in 1988, was get arrested for DUI and disorderly conduct. I was cuffed, shoved into the backseat of a squad car and spent the night BEHIND bars.

    So there... FEEL BETTER? cheers

In the civilian world it seems that way DA. I actually own a Glock 21 Slim Frame .45. I just like the punch the .45 carries. Plus Im big enough to where I can carry it concealed, with the right jacket.

  • HAHAHA thats the way of the world Devilnuts. Nah I dont have anything against MP's really. That was actually what I was going to go in as but my buddy that had already been through boot camp talked me into infantry. They actually hooked me up several times coming through the gate at PI. I used to come through blasted about 3-4 nights a week coming back from Savannah, GA and they would let me on through. I was so bad one night, my buddy was curled up in the fetal position in the passenger seat, and I couldnt even stand up. They asked me to get out of the car and I had to lean against it to be able to stand. They pulled me to the side to tell me my ID was nicked and I needed to get a new one. They knew I was obviously trashed and they had some fun with me but in the end they let me go so it was ok.

One of my interesting stories: On my first of 2 Med cruises, we had a perfect cruise. Did not lose a plane, copter, man, or anything in 6 months at sea. Absolutely flawless.
Pulling into Norfolk Va, within eyesight of the pier with 20,000 family members waiting, we plow into the side of tanker ship that was at anchor. I was in the hangar deck and I was like why in the touch is the collision alarm going off. Sure enough I look out one of the elevator doors and see the gigantic front of a ship. It went right down our side like the iceberg in Titanic.

I went on 2 weeks leave as soon as we docked, when I got back our Captain had been disgracefully replaced. Unreal.

Any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, can respond with a great deal of pride and satisfaction," I served in the United States Navy".............John F. Kennedy.

  • Ahem, 99'-03' US Army M1A1 Abrams tanker, starting with being stationed for 16 weeks of basic and AIT at Fort Knox. Three out of the four years were spent stationed at Fort Hood, TX. During that time however I was deployed to Ft. Irwin, CA for the NTC twice (Bluefor, Opfor games). My final year was spent in Camp Casey, ROK. I was lucky enough to get my orders to Korea when Bush ordered all state side units to get ready to go play REAL war games. With that being said, I was one of last soldiers not to get shot at during their military service. thumbsup

You know the funny thing is that I later found out my unit at Hood was the one that caught Saddam in that spider hole. roflmao

  • Now that was a speech! I can only imagine the outrage that Col. Glenn must have felt when Metzenbaum said that. But he responded the right way, the correct way, the way an officer and a gentleman should respond to an insult of that nature........... Col. Glenn turned it around on Metzenbaum and made him look the fool that Metzenbaum really was.
We must all remember that guys like Metzenbaum are the same people who have led this country down the path of self-destruction, along with a lot of his kind........... Ted Kennedy, Robert Byrd, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Lyndon Baines Johnson, Jimmy Carter, Barbara Boxer, Charles Rangel, Charles Schumer, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, the current occupant of the Oval Office............. I think you get the idea, that we have many, many enemies, and most are enemies from within.
I know what I'm saying, for I know the enemy when I see him, and he is us............. or pretends to be while he/she slowly slips the knife in our backs while he/she smiles in our face.
I love my country, but I despise my government.
As many of you have, I took an oath to uphold, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. Even though I am no longer in the Army, I still feel that I have not been relieved of that sacred duty. I still serve my country, and my community, friends, and family every day.

"I, _______________ do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and alligiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the Officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So Help Me God."

Winner of the US Documentary Grand Jury Prize at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. www.restrepothemovie.com "Restrepo" is a feature-length documentary that chronicles the deployment of a platoon of U.S. soldiers to Afghanistan's Korengal Valley. The movie focuses on a remote 15-man outpost, Restrepo, named after a platoon medic who was killed in action. It was considered one of the most dangerous postings in the US military. This is an entirely experiential film: our cameras never leave the valley, we dont interview generals or diplomats. Our only goal is to make you feel as though you have just done a 90-minute deployment. This is war, full stop. The conclusions are up to you.
