Yep--Kerry would likely be replaced by Scott Brown in the Senate, so that makes the appointment unlikely unless Kerry really begs for it.

Hillary has done a great job. Geithner has done what he had to do. The only other cabinet member who has been outstanding is Arne Duncan, so I hope he stays.

If Panetta goes, Chuck Hagel would be an apt replacement.

At Treasury, it'd be great to see Michael Bloomberg (or at Commerce), but I doubt he'd do it. It'll probably be Jake Lew.

At HHS (if they need one) or Homeland Security (ditto), I'd like to see Richard Carmona. He lost his election the other night in Arizona for the Senate, but he's an interesting and very capable guy.

Deval Patrick would indeed pick a Democrat to fill the seat, but then they'd have to have a special election. Brown might not win that, but he'd be the odds-on favorite. If I'm not mistaken Ted Kennedy's replacement had about four months in the seat.

Poor fella Mitch is in some trouble. If he does the right thing and does a compromise he's going to have a teabagger from the extreme right maybe taking him out in the primary. If he does the wrong thing and continues the obstruction the entire nation is sick of a moderate democrat can likely take him out. Oh and besides all that he's in real danger of being fired as minority leader. Poor poor Mitch "droopy dog". Tell me he doesn't look like droopy.

Yeah. Me and everyone else interested in truth and fact. The State Department decides what embassies get what security. So blaming Obama for not giving enough security is wrong. Simple as that. The President has nothing to do with that. It's State. Second, blaming Susan Rice is beyond retarded and also wrong. She gave the talking points given to her, congress, and the President by the CIA. These were the official reports of the CIA. Even McCain and Huckleberry Graham have had to back off that crap since Betrayus confirmed this in closed hearings. The information the CIA gave was wrong. That's all. This entire Benghazi thing is a trumped up attempt by the right to give Obama a scandal. It's so glaringly obvious. And idiots that only watch right wing "news" believe the bullshit because they want to believe it.

My personal belief is that Betrayus knowingly gave this bad info in hopes of hurting Obama's reelection bid. He knew he was done and hates Obama so he was trying to stick it to him before he hit the door. Those unbelievably wrong reports had to be signed off on by him. If you go back through one of these threads you'll see me saying terrorists did Benghazi only a day or 2 after it happened. Rachel Maddow did a 15 minute breakdown of the entire thing basically proving it was terrorists only a day or 2 after the event. However my Betrayus theory is just that, a theory. I have no proof whatsoever and I wouldn't accept it as fact unless the facts were proven. I'm not like you righties or faux "news" or rush or beck. I don't know how you figure that. They are 2 completely different situations. Bush did screw the pooch on Katrina along with others. He wasn't the only one. I think comparing Bush's handling of Katrina with Obama's handling of Sandy is a better comparison.

Going into Iraq was everyones fault. Bush, every politician that voted for it, the military itching for a fight with anyone, CIA for terrible reports, the media for not asking questions and just letting whatever pass without question. Everyone. Of course WMD was just a smokescreen.
