I know you meant that as a joke (I hope), but the scary thing is (ironically)... he would, if he could.

  • 1) JJ your taxes haven't gone up one cent and if not for Obama fighting for the payroll tax extension they would have gone up. Wanting the top 1% to pay what they were paying before the TEMPORARY Bush tax cuts isn't the same tax monster you have in your head.

    2) I despise Mitt Romney now. He is an absolute snake in the grass and a complete liar. A couple years ago he wrote an op-ed titled "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt". Now that he's campaigning in Michigan he's blasting Obama for saving the car industry but also taking credit for it coming back stronger than ever. You can't have it both ways. God I hate him. He had a fair chance to win my vote. I'd rather vote for a retarded frog.

    3) Santorum should make Jim Bob Duggar his VP nominee. The perfect ticket.

On #1, like the Conservatives in office, I have no problem with extending the tax cuts... but due to the additional deficit spending (pork) attached to the same bill, I would have to vote against it. Let's just put a "tax cut extension (ONLY) bill" on the table, without the garbage... and see who is more willing to vote for it and who's not. Then, we (the voters) will see the true colors of some and be able to form a more honest, fair opinion of those in Congress. ALL Bills should be that way... one single item (NO PORK).

I almost forgot... on #2, I'm beginning to feel the same way about Romney. The more I hear him speak, the more "POLISHED POLITICIAN BULLSHIT" I have to shovel from my ears. I just have a hard time trusting anyone who has been on BOTH sides of so many issues. I despise Politicians who speak from both sides of their mouths, who's willing to say anything to get a vote... based on the audience they are in front of, the way the wind is blowing or what polls show the popular answer to be. It's the kind of politics that we've all been accustom to for way too many years now... and quite frankly, sick as hell of.

  • If there was no pork the people would complain about not getting things for their state. If a person gets something for their state it's pork. They're caught in a catch 22. No pork no re-election. Pork and people complain about holding up bills. It's one of those things that people complain about unless they are getting the benefit lol

Obama hasn't raised taxes on anyone. It's pretty unfair to keep labelling him as tax crazy when he hasn't raised taxes. Even on the rich.

I agree ... and it's a sad thing, but the way I see it... TOO DAMN BAD!!! I can careless what some "selfish ass" people think about pork and the "Bone" they want tossed their way.... this is about AMERICA!!! (not one State, Party or Political game plan). With this kind of debt, we need STRONG representatives who have the NADS to say "NO MORE PORK PEOPLE... WE CANNOT AFFORD THAT SELFISH, SPECIAL TREATMENT, VOTE BUYING, LEGISLATION BLACKMAIL, CORRUPT BULLSHIT ANYMORE... A NUFF IS A F'ING NUFF!!!"

I don't think Santorum would ever go for it. A picture of Duggar and his 49 kids is more birth control than a truckload of condoms.

hahaha It's hard to believe it's 2012 and we still have people like him that are anti-birth control. It's this kind of craziness that made him lose his last election by 19 points. But I'm all for him. I hope he gets the nomination. And he just might. Every time Romney opens his mouth he's spitting up blatant lies. This car bailout thing in Michigan has him flip flopping so much he seriously just doesn't know what to do. He's flipped himself into a coma. Him taking credit for saving the car industry is right on par with Al Gore's invented the internet ridiculousness. It's pretty fun to watch.

  • If and when Santorum loses the republican nomination his war on women will be the direct cause. This stuff is way over the top for even conservative women. Most of them anyway

Santorum dogged by supporter's aspirin-as-birth-control remark

A wealthy backer of GOP presidential contender Rick Santorum left his interviewer scratching her head Thursday when he suggested that in the olden days, birth control was less expensive because women just squeezed an aspirin between their knees to prevent them from having sex.

  • I honestly can't think of a worse topic for a politician to bring up. I saw a survey that said 91% of women have used birth control. And you don't need no poll to know that 99.999% of men (I.e. Everybody but Rick) believe in it. He'd have more support if he came out that the world is flat

The scariest thing of all is he's completely sincere about his backwards thinking. It's not just pandering to the base of the base. I think he's so far right even the base will abandon him. The only people that will vote for this guy are the most ardent evangelicals. But there are a lot of them. The longer this stays a 4 man or 3 man race the better Santorums chances. I'm praying Newt and Paul stay in all the way to the convention.

You do realize that no politician brought this issue up, don't you? It was George Stepanopolis at the debate. It wasn't anywhere on the radar before that.

lol So it's the medias fault he has backwards opinions and is anti-woman. The poor thing.

  • not sure how you draw that conclusion. It was stated it was a stupid issue for him to bring up. I just simply replied he didn't bring it up. He gave the constitutionally correct answer. People need to move on to other issues.

I wasn't really thinking about Foster Freiss's comment--I guess that's what was referenced, so I apologize. BTW, I thought that was hilarious and clever, from a humor standpoint, but it doesn't do much for Santorum's image.

This all comes about from Santorum's attack on Obama's contraception proposal that's got all the Catholic's bent out of shape. Politically, he can condemn the decision and the whole law, but he chose to go further and express his belief that nobody should use birth control and that he'd be fine if the states were to decide to ban it. He's since come out to say while he believes in what he said, he won't do anything about it as president.

My only point is that that is an opinion that's far out of step with American thought. Other than some of Paul's monetary issues, I can't think of any position any candidate has taken in recent memory that is so widely relevant to most Americans and still out of step with such a large majority.

    djkycat54906

  • I guess I missed those comments by him. I did hear him say that the Federal gov't couldn't prevent states from out-lawing them, which I agree with. I also heard him say he believes contraception to be immoral, which I understand, though don't share of those beliefs. Apparently because he holds some different beliefs as some, he's some bufoon unfit for the office of president. I hope he wins the White House and you guys commit suicide.

It's not that some don't hold those beliefs--it's that nearly no one does. And, it's something that is a very important part of life for most of us. I don't think that makes him a buffoon--it's more like he's an alien

  • Now he's come out and said he's against pre-natal care. This guy wants women pregnant and barefoot in the kitchen. The consitution also doesn't give women the right to vote, and I think he'd be all for going back to that.

You mean the part where I wasn't able to meet the aspirations my Lord Jesus and I have for me? You're very keen to have noticed. Unfortunately, Christians are human and aren't akways Christ-like.

you guys are gonna have to start linking sources to your accusations. Make sure it has direct quotes. I really doubt if Santorum said he is against pre-natal care. I'm sure he was speaking about funding of it, or more likely Planned Parenthood. But I have a suspicion your assinine comments about the guy will fall flat.

We're just talking, not writing a research paper.

But I do agree that it's a little hyperbolic to say he's against pre-natal care. What he said was that the government healthcare program should not make providers pay for amniocentesis because "more often than not" (that is a quote) they lead to an abortion.

Again--I think he's out of step with what most parents would want, but this issue probably gets him some points with the anti-abortion crowd.

    djkycat54906

  • Well, that's a lot different then saying he's against pre-natal care now isn't it?

And seriously, the reason they do the amniocentesis is so that you can decide if you want to keep the baby or not. That's how it was sold to us anyway.

Apparently, the same thing happened to Santorum. He's got a kid with a genetic defect and the doctor suggested they might want to abort it. I'm somewhat conflicted on that. To some degree, I think that's the chance you take when you get pregnant--although the test can show that the child has no chance of living--or that there's some kind of problem that can be fixed in utero.

But flip this around--Santorum and his wife have 8 kids. It's irresponsible to still be having kids at age 48 (his wife's age when this last kid was born). Genetic defects go way up when you're having kids that late in life. The small chance of a birth defect that a 20-something couple might take, maybe 1 in 500, becomes the somewhat likely chance of 1 in 10 for a woman in her 40s. Because of their decision against contraception, and against abstinence, this poor child will have a helpless and painful (and very short) life.

I can't say they should have had an abortion--in a case like this where the child's quality of life is so compromised, it may be the humane thing to do.

But I can surely say that their old asses have no business having babies--and that goes for Sarah Palin, too.

    djkycat54906

  • While I can understand your position on the matter, my world view is that all children are a gift from God. Even the "broken" ones. The last thing I want the government to do is tell me if I can procreate or not. There are plenty of people I think should be sterilized. BB4L is one. lol. But no way in Hell, should I be allowed to decide who can and can't and neither should you, JDrumm, John Calipari, or the government.

All 3 of my children are healthy, thank God. I know it's not an easy road to raise a disabled child, but if I had one, I'd be outraged if someone said he were not worthy of living. Leave the effin gov't out of it.

    DA23_rox

  • Why is it so easy for "some" to spin things out of control and mischaracterize Santorum (or anyone else on the right)... but yet, at the same time, make excuses (at every turn) for Obama and those on the left?

Never mind... I know the answer... "AMERICAN POLITICS"!!! (where hypocrisy runs amok... on BOTH sides)

While I'm at it... where are all those on the left, who were bitching about high gas prices while Bush was still POTUS? Prices have NEVER been this high in February... and we are paying almost $2.00 MORE per gallon, since Obama has taken over. Again... WHERE'S ALL THE OUTRAGE NOW?!!!

His energy policies are costing us dearly at the pump... and "some" on the left CONTINUE to make excuses. Obama "sympathizers" are doing America NO FAVORS... stop being blind sheep and GET REAL!!! Banning off shore drilling, blocking the Keystone Pipeline and making us EVEN MORE reliable on foreign oil, has cost this country thousands of good paying jobs, cost us MORE at the pump and put EVEN MORE of a strain on our economy. Not to mention, made it EVEN MORE difficult to pay down our deficit... which Obama now earns ALL the blame for.

One more thing... Obama's "everybody's gotta pay their fair share" and "everybody's gotta play by the same rules" rhetoric, is complete BS and someone needs to call his ass on the hypocrisy of it all. When he (and Pelosi) were handing out ObamaCare "immunity passes" to their liberal, Big Union (and other Big Donor) buddies, I suppose that's what he calls "everybody playing by the same rules and paying their fair share"? Yeah right.... GTFO!!! Everything he says, is a complete and utter joke... and those who continue to support or make excuses for his hypocritical and unconstitutional antics, ARE AN EVEN BIGGER JOKE!!!
