Proud Daddy moment

  • My daughter, who is a dancer, finished 2nd place overall for her age division at her national dance competition. This was against nearly 50 other dancers in the solo competition. She still has some group routines that she's in over the next few days, but this is definitely the highlight of her "career" to date. She has already been a part of 2 natl champ group routines and has also performed in the Louisville Ballet's Nutcracker.

  • Congrats my friend. Simply awesome.

  • I wouldn't mind seeing my daughter get into something like dancing or gymnastics as opposed to sports like basketball or softball. I'll definitely teach her how to play golf though.

Anyway congrats to your daughter. I'd imagine you're walking tall.

That is very awesome. How old is she? How long has she been dancing? My 7 year old has been in ballet for just over a year now. 3 months ago she had her first big recital. She was so beautiful and I ain't gonna lie...seeing her out here doin her thing overwhelmed me with emotion. She also wants to do gymnastics but im worried that maybe doin both could be too much.

A bit off topic but i thought i would brag on my other daughter. Zoey doesn't turn 8 months for another two weeks but two days ago started walking! However she is using the couch to hold herself up but i thought it was pretty crazy none the less. Cameryn (who ny the way just decided to go by her middle name Berlyn out of nowhere lol) started walking just before 9 months and I thought that was crazy...the baby simply freaks me out. LMWAO

  • My daughter is 14. She's been dancing since the age of 4. Just finished her 8th yr of competitive dancing. So You Think You Can Dance is the closest to what she does: ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop. She hasn't done any partner dancing since there are no boys near her age at her studio. As far as dance and gymnastics together, doing both competitively would eventually be too much, but either one as a skill development compliment to the other would actually be advantageous.

Congrats Catfan!!! ... Let us know if or when she will be on "So you think you can dance" or "America's got talent".

Awesome! I know you are proud, as you should be.

My 3 1/2 yr old daughter started the fundamental "fun" dance classes this year where they really just play around and learn to move to music like "I'm a Little Teapot," but while dressed in full ballet outfits. I'm hoping she sticks with it and gets to the point of what your girl is doing, but only time will tell.

My daughter started walking at 7 months and I already knew she was gonna be a handful at that point.

  • As an addendum to her earlier solo results, one of her group routines won the Natl Championship for its age division and category ( large group (10 or more)). She now has been on 3 Natl title teams in her career.

That's awesome Catfan... I'd be proud too. You should post a YouTube link of the event or something.

Oh wait... on second thought, DON'T!!! That could be taken as some slime ball petafile request. lol

I sure as hell don't wanna be the blame for posting anything that lured that scum of the earth. It's a damn shame, but that's how protective (of our kids) we MUST be... especially, in the sorry world we live in today.

I wish you and your daughter the best of luck... I hope she reaches whatever star she is aiming for. cheers
