Quick Political Question??

  • Um, you may want to check your facts here. To my knowledge, not a single fillabuster has been used during Barak's presidency.

In Which Republicans Forget Their Record-B...

At this weekend's Conservative Political Action Conference, Sens. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Marco Rubio (R-FL) suggested that everything that went wrong during the first two years of President Obama's term must be laid at his feet because Obama "got everything he wanted" from Congress while both houses were controlled by Democrats. As the video also reminds these Republicans, however, there's one giant problem with their talking point — the Senate GOP's unprecedented abuse of the filibuster. Indeed, the number of votes attempting to break Sen. McConnell's use of this tactic more than doubled the minute he took over as minority leader. http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2012/02/13/423294/video-republicans-pretend-theres-no-such-thing-as-the-filibuster/

  • Those aren't fillabusters. They're threats of fillabusters and procedural stall tactics. A real fillabuster hasn't been used in 2 decades.

We will have to agree to disagree.

As imperfect as Mitt may be... he's still a helluva lot better than 4 more years of Barry.

My vote will be based on Obama's record and what I think about his policies... it's as simple as that. (Carl says that makes me a racist) lol

You are. It's odd you find Obama's investments questionable when you're supporting a guy that wants to add 2 trillion on defense spending that isn't even being asked for. The bloated defense budget that is sucking up the vast majority of the budget. If you did some research on sites that weren't in the extreme right blogosphere you'd find the "questionable" investments you're talking about like education, clean energy, health care etc are a drop in the huge bucket when compared to the bloated defense budget. I also find it odd you don't think a tax cut for the extreme wealthy on the backs of the poor and middle class isn't questionable. It's more than just irresponsible and wrong economically. It's wrong morally.

  • Don't give me that "feel a buster" crap... he had all the power a President could possibly have his first two years in office.

That's a lie perpetuated by the right. It's a flat out lie. You need a super majority in both houses to get anything done with this republican party and Obama has NEVER had that. Why Obama and the dems continue to let this lie go unchecked is beyond me.

Granted... there was only about 4 months during that time in which he had a filibuster proof majority, but having said that, he still had a strong majority in both houses of congress... and he FAILED to take advantage of it. There may have been threats of a filibuster coming from the right, but so what... that BS strategy is used by BOTH parties. Barry, Harry and Scary STILL had all the power any party could possibly hope for... and they blew it. Thank God.

  • So, What your saying is...The Obama Admin had a total of 4months to repair the damage done by 8yrs of Buch & Cheney??? Yeah, that seems reasonable.

(Keep believing EVERYTHING coming from the Right...No need to do any research for yourself ...They will always tell you what your supposed to think & what their version of the truth is.)

Gimme a break... like you don't spew the same garbage that you hear from the left-nut talking heads. I'm sure you slobber all over yourself every time Chris Mathews and others flap their "Obama Ass Kissing" lips. You liberal hypocrites never cease to amaze me.

  • I at least research the issues I talk about. Unlike most of the the Faux News / EIB / Glenn Beck / Clear Channel - Zombie Nation.

To hear those guys talk, You'd think the entire economic crisis was Obama's fault...But I think most people are not that damn dumb to forget that what he walked into / what the last REP administration left him...And just where we are today.

I guess after another 4 years of ever increasing debt, a sluggish economy, high unemployment, high taxes and even more big government spending ...
Barry and his puppets (you) will STILL be blaming Bush. Geez!!! You libs are pathetic.

    Love your talking points...

Ever heard of Supply-side Economics / Voodoo Economics or Fractional-reserve Banking System??? Might want to brush up before you start talking about Obama's dept increases & look at what started the chain of events in the 1st place.

Nah... I just learned a long time ago that you can't argue with "Stupid"... or a Lib in this case.

No...No I wasn't a libertarian..I'm still a registered REP, as I have always been. And just as I have previously stated...the REP party I belonged to, has been over run by people so far to the Religious Right & By Tea Party REP... That my views are now seen as being squarely on the Liberal side of those rigid ideologues.

It's just fun messing w/ those ill-prepared & uniformed lost souls.
