Republican National Convention

  • I didn't watch it. Of course. I caught snippets here and there. Is it just me or was is it just bizarre? Everything I saw of it was just odd. What was Clint talking about? Seriously. I thought Romney was the nominee, but apparently Chris Christie is? He seemed to think so with all the "you fight for me. I'll fight for you" odd speech. I'm not going to bash the politics. The "we built this" thing was bizarre. An entire platform built on a lie? I understand intentionally misconstruing what a person says for a line in a speech or a political ad. I mean it's deplorable and both sides do it but I understand it. To make it your entire platform is just straight up weird. I posted a link that I thought would represent my reaction to the entire convention. The gangsters = the convention. Dennis Reynolds confused reaction to the gangsters = my reaction to the convention. It says it's Unavailable but it is.

  • Carl, did you hear Romney's birther joke? Man, that guy is crazy. Dangerous too. I hope Jesus returns today or tomorrow, well, maybe after we get retribution from UofL on Sunday, and saves us from all of these clowns in this government.

  • i didn't watch it, but i'm pretty sure Steve Spurrier is a Republican, so I feel like I did my duty last night hating on old white guys.

  • I didn't hear Romney's birther joke. What was it? And lol dj. I think it's safe to say we won't be seeing "Vote For Obama" bumper stickers on Mr Spurrier's bumper. And did you guys click the link and see Dennis' reaction? Man that's some funny ish. The first time I saw it i was crying I was laughing so hard.

  • Carl, he said "...when you need a really big job done, you send an American." Obviously pandering to the birthers. The scourge of the earth.

    stillDA23

  • God. I'm just so sick of that bullshit. I don't mean the birthers. I do but not just them. I'm sick of people on all sides just lying, bending the truth, spinning. The political ads that if you believe you're an idiot. On both sides. All of them bend what their opponent says and each side justifies it by saying the other side does it or by telling themselves it's for the greater good or just telling themselves it's just politics. And the public is to blame because without that we don't elect them. And people never put their guy in check. Remember when McCain told that old retard that Obama wasn't a Muslim? That he was a good and decent man with different views than him? It should be like that for all of them all the time. That shouldn't be the exception to the rule. Mitt and Trump and all of those assholes know Obama was born in America. He showed his birth certificate ffs!!! More than once!!! That should have been the end of it. But no. They want to keep pandering that to the ignorant that want to hate Obama so much they'd believe anything negative said about him even if it's proven wrong. I'd give almost anything for just one election without all the bullshit. Just 2 guys debating issues. 2 guys running on their records and actually being honest about it all without spin. No tear down ads. Just ads with what you've done and what you are going to do.... precisely. No "I'm going to create more jobs" without any explanation as to how.

Lol at you for going all nuts...he didnt make a birther joke at all.

"Tonight, that American flag is still there on the Moon.
and I don't doubt for a second that Neil Armstrong's spirit is
still with us. That unique blend of optimism, humility, and the
utter confidence that, when the world needs someone to do that,
    you need an American."

Now if that ain't some typical liberal bullshit, then, I don't know what is.

It's like "we will all know what's in the bill after we pass it". Stupidity at it's best, but the funny thing is... those people really think they're smart.

Btw, I heard a great joke...

What could possibly be worse than Obama?
The dumbass who voted for him.

So, I thought of another joke...

What could possibly be worse than the dumbass who voted for Obama?
    The brain-dead water-head ass-wipe who would vote for him a 2nd time.

Now that I think about it... that's not even a damn joke. coffee

That was just an example of what I was sayin.

And all you idiots reactions are great examples why politics are how they are. Conservatives and especially teabaggers are 90% of the problem. I shouldn't have even tried to be nice by saying both sides are guilty. Both sides are guilty but 90% of the hate, spin, and outright lies come from the right. There I go being nice again. Make that 99% of it.

You can't seriously believe that, can you? 90%? The Dems are so honest and don't ever try to scare Grandma or black people, or women, or parents with special needs children, etc. Nope. Doesn't happen from the Dems side! You gotta be kidding me.

You think I don't know how to think for myself? It amazes me that you liberals think we conservatives are just zombies who listen to talk radio for our marching orders. We are thinking people who believe in certain things and have a image of an ideal America. We're very similar to liberals! It's uncanny!

  • By the way, I really like Ryan as VP. I didn't realize he had the charisma he showed at the convention. He speaks with real passion, too. Overall, a solid showing and one that really helped our side.

  • Everybody I have talked to seems to love Ryan as VP. At least those with a brain.

Not only that, but he is a very good communicator, and does it in a short, clear, concise, efficient manner. Very different for a politician on the national scene.

And not only that, but I can't wait for Ryan to debate Biden. It won't even be fair, Ryan will wipe the floor with Biden.

Former SNL comic revives rape debate

While republicans at their national convention in Tampa have been ignoring the issue, former Saturday Night Live comic turned conservative Victoria Jackson discussed Rep. Todd Akin's comments about rape, along with her own opinions on the matter.
