  • I think it's funny that Carl thinks calling us "teabaggers" is really getting us. He probably thinks it's really clever. lmao.

Anyone see what kind of bump Romney has gotten from the convention? Or does that not come out until Tuesday? I would think it was a nice bump. Not sure if he keeps it after the DNC holds theirs, but should be significant, nonetheless.

  • This interview was just one woman's opinion, everyone has opinions - average teabagger is irrelevant and is only in your post to demonize

The Weekly Standard has an article concerning another SNL cast member

Earlier this week, Senator Al Franken of Minnesota joined Vice President Joe Biden for a campaign event in Minnesota.

"Biden got plenty of support from Minnesota Democrats," PostBulletin.com reports . "Sen. Al Franken praised Obama for pushing the health care law, saying it will help more seniors get help paying for prescriptions and will ensure Medicare's solvency for an additional eight years."

But before Franken was a senator he was a writer on the TV show Saturday Night Live. Then, he famously joked about raping CBS reporter Lesley Stahl.

As New York magazine reported in 1995, from a writing session that the reporter sat in on:

Franken: “And, ‘I give the pills to Lesley Stahl. Then, when Lesley’s passed out, I take her to the closet and rape her.’ Or, ‘That’s why you never see Lesley until February.’ Or, ‘When she passes out, I put her in various positions and take pictures of her.’”

With the national conversation now turning to women's issues as a result of the bizarre and offensive comments by Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin over the weekend, it seems a bit odd that Vice President Biden would take the stage with Franken, considering his own lack of sensitivity to the horrors of rape.

From what I've seen, no change in polling from the convention. I expect the same for the Democrats. Any more, conventions are for the die-hards. Last year was a little different with Obama being a big story and Palin coming onto the scene just right before her convention, but generally they've turned into snoozefests that nobody pays attention to--especially the undecided voter.

Probably the best the R's could hope for would be a little bounce in Florida, but that didn't even happen. There's really been no significant movement in any poll I've seen for about three months except for Ryan's nomination bringing Wisconsin into play. Other than that, nothing is moving the needle.

  • Did I really hear a Dem say that, "Bin Laden is dead and general motors is alive" and then everybody cheered. Thats funny.

With that spectacle the repubs should count themselves lucky they didn't get a huge dip from that collection of brain dead mongoloids they threw on the stage. I sincerely felt very embarrassed and uncomfortable for the republican voter. We all know I'm no fan of republicans but the moderate common sense republicans deserved better than that. What am I saying? Like moderate common sense republicans exist anymore. My bad.

Rasmussen has Romney with a 3 point lead when he trailed leading up to the convetion. Gallup has it tied.

I don't see that. Rasmussen had them tied in July, then Romney up to +3, then +2 right before the convention. Now he's +1.

But those numbers don't change what I meant--they are statistically insignificant differences.
