Romney Just Became Disgusting

  • He went from horrible to absolutely disgusting. He has decided to politicize a tragedy. Of course I'm talking about our diplomats deaths. He attacked Obama over a statement released by the embassy in Cairo. The white house also condemned the statement. But since Obama is the President Romney reasons it's on his watch and therefore it's Obamas statement. It ties into the Romney/conservative scare tactics of saying Obama apologizes for America. It's disgusting. Romney is disgusting. He would literally do and say anything to be President. I can't wait for the debates. There has been a lot of backlash over Romney's disgusting politicizing of this tragedy. Even from republicans. He just lost a lot of on the fence votes. Romney is a liar and it's not ok. But I understand the right standing by him anyway because he's their guy. But these lies? Using dead Americans to try to make political points? That should be condemned by the left and the right and the middle and anyone in America. Enough is enough.

  • He didnt lose any votes.

“The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions.”

Only after the negative response Obama camp puts this out:“The statement by Embassy Cairo was not cleared by Washington and does not reflect the views of the United States government,” a senior Obama administration official says.

Romney's comment after the Cairo embassy: “I’m outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi. It‘s disgraceful that the Obama administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks”

You can blame Romney all you want...but Obama is the leader of the nation and the dumbass statement originally released was unacceptable...fish stinks at the head. Be a leader.

People defending Mitt Romney in this are just as disgusting as he is.

  • I find the Obama defense pretty disgusting in this case.

The US embassies are part of US government...Obama is in charge...a statement that is released like the one from Cairo is disgusting. It reflects on his leadership.

I guess he can get points for backing away from the statement after the fact...but you are pretty disgusting on this one.

You had no comeback after the facts above were posting in quotations.

There's nothing to defend. It doesn't reflect on his leadership whatsoever. The statement in question was issued while the walls were being scaled by the people behind that wall. It was done in haste to try to quell the mob. You can't put that on the President no matter who was in office or what political party they belonged to. Anyone that does is a complete piece of shit. Anyone that tries to score political points on this isn't even worth spitting on.

And speaking on his leadership... it killed Bin Laden. It upped drone attacks and has killed more terrorists and REAL enemies than all of Dubya's years combined. It's mended and strengthened our relations that Dubya all but destroyed. Mitt's foreign policy experience consists of a blooper reel tour where he offended our biggest ally. Romney a leader. Are you out of your touchin mind? This guy changes his opinions to whatever will get him elected and always has. He's a pathetic excuse of a human being and this latest attack should put him and all his supporters to shame.

  • So it's Obama's fault...

Not Sam Bacile: the California filmmaker that ridiculed Islam’s Prophet Muhammad in his anti-Islam hate mongering film that started this whole mess..(He who's in hiding, like the coward he is, and has the gall to blame "poor embassy security" on the deaths - not taking responsibility for his own callousness!)

Not the Cairo embassy for issuing a statement to try to quell the emotions of the many Muslims offended by the ultra right wing Jewish-American's movie (BEFORE the news of what happened/was happening in Lybia was out) ???

    Nope...It's all Obama's fault...Got it. fingergun

  • This isn't going to help Carl sleep at night, but McConnell, Boehner, and Cantor pretty much agree with him.

But don't worry WildcatGG24. You've still got Sarah Palin on your side.

Romney is way out of line and extremely anxious to make political points out of a tragedy. That's not to say somebody who works in the state dept. wasn't way out of line as well, but that person was likely under extreme duress at the time. That's not an excuse, but it's surely not an indictment of either Hillary or Obama.

Never said anything about Romneys leadship in this...but there was a lack of leadership from the President. The Libya murders came well after the events in Cairo from what I have read...why wasnt the security beefed up and and ready to go?

Geez nice comprehension...the uprising wasnt Obama's fault...but there was a major lack of leadership while statements came out in apologetic tone which reflects a view point of our government while other Americans were being murdered.

I dont care who is on my "side"...the apologizing tone in the first statement was ridiculous. The US embassies are part of Gov and the President and advisors should have been more prepared.

For the people who think an apology wouldve slowed the attack while it was happening... thats ignorant. Hey, crazies we're sorry..."ok, thats all we needed...we are elaving now."

Romney hiccuped when he called out Obama admin directly, instead of calling out the Embassy for comments and then calling attention to Obama leadership at time.

And you trying to blame the filmmaker for this stuff...yeah he is probably an ignorant ass, but a movie shouldnt make people kill others. There is no excuse for that.

Obama on killing of U.S. ambassador to Libya: 'There's absolutely no justification for this senseless violence. None.'

    ^Agreed

I won't lose sleep over that. I commend them for telling the truth, although I haven't seen or heard their statements. I take your word for it. Were there any "but's" in their statements? I find it hard to believe there wasn't. I mean if they can't even give Obama credit for getting Bin Laden without a few "buts" I'm sure they had to give a few buts on this.

And Wildcat just shut up already. You're either just needling or you're the most disgusting person on this board.

    You shut up punk.

I hate to tell you this but there are political issues involved in these terrible events. National defense, foreign relations and leadership.

This Libya attack was planned. Disgusting.

And I answered how Obama is a good leader that has improved National defense and foreign relations. You have shown nothing to dispute it and you haven't supplied anything showing Romney would be an improvement in these areas. Just attacking Obama over a statement he didn't even make when Americans died. Pathetic.

  • I have attacked the originally released statement by the embassy...i have questioned leadership on this issue because it was handled poorly imo...i posted Romneys quote on the subject...i do believe he came off harsh so it reflects poorly when americans died. Id love to know why i am disgusting though. I have no reason for political gain...this was not obamas fault, but the handling of the situation was poor in my opinion and that does reflect on the president.

    WildcatGG24

  • And we can all agree using death for political gain is wrong...i am sure you all disagreed with the attacks on Romney calling him a murderer...no room for it.

Because what you said there isn't what you were saying before. And no matter what your opinion of the handling after the fact you defended Romney about making this political. And that is disgusting. Disregarding that and going after Obama is disgusting.

And for the record, unlike Romney, the white house doesn't issue blanket statements about something until they know all the facts. At least with this administration. Which is nice when compared to the past administration and a Romney administration. Obama showed much better leadership by waiting to find out wtf was going on before commenting. Romney jumped the gun and immediately tried to score political points while Americans were dying. How does this make Romney a better leader than Obama? Still waiting for you to answer how Romney would be an improvement over Obama on national defense, foreign policy, and leadership.

And you are wrong about Romney not losing votes on this. Talk about wishful thinking. When even the republican leadership condemn what you say you aren't doing well. I'm not as extreme as some think. If I'm this mad about it you can bet there's quite a many moderates upset by it. The only people that love Mitt over this are the extreme right like Palin and you apparently. People that will come out in droves to vote for anything but Obama anyway. Romney is ahowing how inept and stupid and out of touch he is on an almost daily basis now. Some of the polls are starting to show this as well. The convention bump, ryan caught lying a LOT, romney continuously flip flopping on everything, this. It's all starting to catch up. The jobs report didn't give Romney even the slightest blip of a bump. That should tell you something. And just wait until Obama starts hammering him in the debates. You guys better hope for a major economy collapse, which is also disgusting.

hahaha. Carl, you are nothing close to a moderate and to believe many moderates will have the same feelings on this as you is absurd.

If Romney "loses" votes over this, they were never going to vote for him anyways.

You do realize the US embassy is part of the Gov...Obama should have had ducks in a row and told them to hold off commentary until he comes up with something.

I have no idea how Romney would do under fire...just like you had no idea how Obama would in 2008. I do not like how Obama is handling Israel or Iran or how he started his presidency off by apologizing. I do not like how he commented to Putin about waiting until after this election because then he will have tons of wiggle room.

And lets hear you say it was a disgusting attempt by democrats and their supporters labeling Romney as a murderer.

Carl, you tried to use Romneys comments to stir up a huge debate about how he is scum. You IMO are using the situation as well.

But I will give it to you...you are dedicated and passionate...that's admirable. This debate has probably ran its course for me and you until someone else may chime in.

There is no debate. Romney is scum. I was venting anger about a disgusting human being politicizing on the death of Americans. Not looking for debate.

I don't recall Obama calling Romney a murderer. In fact I don't recall anyone calling Romney a murderer. I must have missed that one. It's pretty irrelevant to this situation.

  • So--Obama just should have stopped the Arab spring, right? Things were so much better under Mubarak and Qaadafi. If he were to "re-fund" the freedom push, who exactly would get that money? Al Quaeda?
