The Walking Dead

  • Its tough to say who will go next. The problem with last night's episode is that it was season-finale-caliber stuff. They killed off 2 "big" characters ("big" being defined as people in the main group), with Lori's death coming in such a dramatic fashion that they could have ended the season with the scene where Carl walks past Glenn's girlfriend right after shooting his mom and doesn't say a word. They could have faded to black right there to end the season.

Anyway, back on topic of who will die next, I am going to have to disagree and say everyone in Rick's group is a "main character" now. Herschel, his daughters, Carol...everyone. With that in mind, I think Hershel or his blonde daughter are the next to go. Maybe Glenn or his girlfriend (I don't know why I am drawing a blank on her name today) since they are really building up the romance between the 2 of them and with him being a pretty big "hero" last season and early this season. I can see him getting killed while saving her, similar to how they killed off T-Dog saving Carol. I also don't see Herschel making it too long on one leg and he will only slow the group down, so I am guessing he goes at some point this season. He may, in fact, be the one the Governor kills (or lets get killed by the walkers) in order to firmly solidify his position as a true villain on the show.

  • I'm not 100% sold that Lori is dead.....

During the talking dead, the Exec. Producer would barely mention Lori. A lot on T-Dog though...

Yes. On The Talking Dead they said several times that Lori was dead. I guess if you were grasping at straws you could consider the possibility that Carl didn't really shoot her in the head and she becomes a zombie. I don't think that happened but I guess you could entertain the idea.

your second part of your comment, i am just going to leave it as "huh."

    lol,

In regards to first part. That's a discussion me and my buddy are having earlier. Who is the next big character to die.

One point i was telling him is, we know governor is a bad dude. Him killing the military guys are bad, and his head collection is sickening. However, none of these relates to Rick's group. So i was thinking that him to become serious villain, i think he will kill someone from the group.

Now, when i speak main character this excludes that girl in rick's group, hershel, carol, and the 2 prisoners. I think they can be killed off any time. My main characters are speaking Rick, Carl, Daryl, Meg, and Glenn. I think those 5 are the critical 5 characters right now.

So, who out of those 5 will die first? Sorry to say, but i think Daryl might be the next, or Carl.

That's my unintelligent guess. How about you guys?

EDIT: I think Michonne and Andrea is a big characters as well. I don't think Michoone and Andrea will die, however. Obviously, neither will Rick.

I think you're right on Daryl. Everything screams that he is a terrible pick for next to die. He's one of, if not, the favorite character for most people. He brings people to watch the show. So it doesn't make sense monetarily to kill him off. However that's precisely why he may very well be the next. His character wasn't in the original graphic novels. That means they lose nothing from the original story if he dies. Governor has to kill someone important to be a good villain. I agree. Governor knows Merle. Merle needs a change of heart to come back to the group. Governor kills Daryl? The group, including Merle, kill the Governor? Merle takes Daryls place in the group? That's probably too neat to actually happen.

  • Okay, I didn't watch the talking dead. Alleycat said they barely mentioned Lori was dead, and Carl said they said it several times. .. .

Yeah I noticed that too. I'm right though I'm afraid. Chris Hardwick mentioned he was on set when Lori had the bloody belly makeup stuff on and knew then that she was going to die. He exclaimed he had to hold that in all this time. The exec producer did mention several times the deaths of T-Dawg and Lori. She used them in the same sentence a few times. They did talk T-Dawg more than Lori but I think that's just because the actor that played T-Dawg was the other guest on the show that night.

  • Wanna hear something kinda creepy? mjdotson was talking about the next character to die. I started thinking that they always kill off the cute girls for some reason. Andrea's sister was a little hottie. Dead. Lori. Dead. So I started thinking that makes Hershell's daughter, Beth, a pretty good pick. So I checked the girl that plays Beth's age because, you know, I don't want to be calling a chick a hottie if she's 12. I was expecting 17 or 18. The woman that plays her is.... get ready for this..... 27 years friggin old!!!! She's 27 and flirting with a 10 year old. That is creepy. Actually there is nothing concrete that says she's 27. Her only answer was "over 18". But she graduated from college in 2006. So unless she's a Doogie Howser or Wormser from Revenge Of The Nerds that puts her at about 27.

  • They talked a lot about lori in talking dead.

    That was the big conversation...

anyways, they talked a lot of t-dog because..the actor was there.

  • Also, calling anyone in Rick's group main characters...that's silly.

it's like this...when main character dies, things change. Sometimes better, sometimes worse.

When people found out t-dog died. Reaction was..oh man. Hey where is Lori, Carl, and Meg.

THen when they found out Lori has died. Shit went to hell. Everyone is in state of shock. Meg is completely freaked out, Carl is stiff as hell, and Rick..just falls apart.

T-dog is just another side character. They can kill him off anytime. Not much is going to change. Same goes for other characters that i classify as a side characters. The girl dying, won't cause much attention. maybe a scene of sad faces..but by next episode they will be moved on.

I'm with ya on that. Me saying everyone in the group is a "main character" was just based on the premise of being characters we all know, as opposed to someone who just shows up for a couple of episodes and then dues or leaves. As for truly MAIN characters, there are only very few left....Rick, Carl, Darryl, Glenn, Glenn's girlfriend (I can never remember her name), Andrea, Herschel and now Michonne. Of those, I would guess that either Glenn or his gf goes next.

    Maggie Greene is her name.

I actually think that link is a good explanation on the pecking order of importance. (not exactly accurate, but really defines the important character)

Rick, Lori, Andrea, Daryl, Glenn, Maggie, Carl, Michonne, Merle, and the governor in that order.

Then T-dog, Carol, Hershel, Beth Greene(that's the younger daughter of hershel),

After that are the already dead ones
    Shane, Dale, Sophia, Amy,

And the mysterious Morgan Jones. I wonder if he is going to come back.

THe big question is who prior to governor is going to die next. Michonne is too new and too popular to kill off. Lori already bit the dust. Really interesting, because the list is very small.

Andrea, Daryl, Glenn, Maggie, Carl and Merle. That's it. One of these big character will die.

No. You're thinking of Morgan Freeman

  • Must be. He's from Africa and Muslim in Robin Hood. Reminds me of POTUS.

  • T-Dog was expendable. He was the obligatory black guy/muscle character, who has been replaced by the more dynamic black prisoner. The older white prisoner will wind up playing an important role in the season, I think. Lori's death was shocking, but she was annoying anyway. Hershel will probably wind up with a prosthetic leg once Merle, Andrea, and Michonne (and maybe The Governor) reach the group.

    I think so,

I remember his name being Morgan, but don't recall his last name.

But he is the guy that Rick met at Atlanta.

  • Good episode.

I liked this episode, felt like there was a lot of commercial however.

I think Governor's story is always calmer right now, but boy his story line is effed up. Good episode, you can't always have emotional episode since that will really ruin everything. This season has extremely nice tempo to it.

  • Pretty slow episode. Rick needs to get his selfish head out of his ass. He has a kid that just lost his mom and a brand new baby girl born into this world that doesn't have formula handy at the drop of a hat. I understand being devastated at losing Lori but c'mon, a bit much isn't it?

  • I thought it was a good episode with a lot of storyline developments (Governor has a walker kid, Michonne goes all beast mode on the captive walkers and then puts the blade to the Governor's neck, Michonne leaves the town but Andrea stays, Rick goes completely postal, the 2 prisoners slowly being welcomed into the group, walker gladiator fights, someone calling the phone down in the prison where Rick is, etc.). Obviously there were no HUGE "moments," but it was a good episode. The problem with an episode as big as last week's is that no matter how good the following week is, it never lives up to the previous week and a lot of people come away disappointed. If last week's episode hadn't been as big as it was, more people would have liked last night's.

    mjdotson

  • I liked last night's episode. I'm interesting in who called that phone. I thought the power grid was down with no way of communication. Is Rick hallucinating? Whoever it is that was a bizarre scene IMO considering my assumptions.

  • I'm trying to figure out how they are going to cross the two story lines paths.
Is Michonne going to stumble upon the prison, are they going to cross paths searching for Carrol. Why the hell would carrol run off and not circle around the prison to the hole they cut in the fence?

    Farmy75

  • The 3 graves made no sense. Last night on Talking Dead that guy let slip that Carol is dead. Anyway. I was lost last night about Carol. Daryl putting that thing on the grave. I was thinking "did i miss an episode or something? When did Carol die?" Just confusing stuff last night.
