Tim Tebow ... the Christian

  • I have never been a fan of a gator, but I'm a big fan of Tim Tebow... the Christian. I think he will be a great role model in the NFL. That is something we don't see much of anymore in pro sports. I hope his new book (Through My Eyes) does really well.

  • I had to dig deep into the archives to resurrect this one (page 14)... whew! With all the fuss being made about him these days, I thought this thread may be worthy of a bump.

I gotta tell ya, I've never liked the Bronco's at all, but Tebow is making me a fan quick. Since my Browns are out of contention (as usual), I would love nothing more than to see them (and Tebow) shock the world by making it to the Super Bowl... AND WINNING IT!!! biggrin

Btw... Can you imagine how torn and confusing it must be, to be an atheist Bronco fan now? lol Now, I don't care who ya are... that's funny.

  • It isn't worth a bump and should have been left in the waste basket where it belongs.

  • In this day and age a guy like Tim Tebow is extremely rare. I know kids like my Nephews who watch SC every morning. Its nice for them to have a positive role model getting the majority of the attention.

So who would you prefer as a role model? Tebow or the players from UC or Xavier? How sad that someone cant brag on someone they find to be an inspiration and get slammed for it. Some people say christians are intolerant, but the fact is the liberal elite and those who despise religion are the ones that are intolerant. Tebow is a fine example for all young people and fellow christians.

  • Yeah. He broke up Lindsey Vonn's marriage and is now banging her out of wedlock. What a great christian example. Of hypocrisy that is.

How in the hell do you know what he's doing. Do you work for TMZ?

  • I told my wife, all I want for Christmas is a Tebow jersey. biggrin

If I had to guess, I would say those things are flying off the racks. Someone may have to research the rise (or fall) in the number of Tebow jersey sales. I bet it's rising toward the top of NFL favorites.... just a wild guess of course.

  • JJ, not only would that give a championship to a fine young man in Tebow, but it would also get my boy Wesley Woodyard a championship as well. I think Jarmon is on the Broncos too.

Yeah DA, that would be awesome... for more reasons than one.

  • Awesome article on the man.

Tim Tebow is more cerebral about football than many think. And he's pretty confident in his abilities more than many think. - National Football League news

I thought they cut Jarmon--I didn't think he was playing at all (which is a shame).

Thanks tWhit... great article. No one believes more in Tim Tebow, than "Tim Tebow". Yes, he is a man of faith, but the faith he has in himself to succeed in the NFL, is what will ultimately quiet the naysayers. His confidence, work ethic and determination will prove all the doubters wrong... and he'll be a well respected role model for generations to come.

I knew the kid had serious confidence, and toughness but I didn't realize that he was a big time film watcher and great in preparation.

I guess you just wanted to show how happy you were about Tebow having a bad game.

    You're really "special".

Yep...minus one sack, rushing for 125+ yards and throwing for 200+ yards, he got crushed against the vaunted Patriots. His team just had a bad game tonight vs. the Bills. Bills were a force to be reckoned with...

Yup. I enjoyed both thoroughly. And it will be more of the same. Like I've always said once NFL teams start keying on him and figure it out he's done. He's just a gimmick. Like the wildcat offense. He may have a good game and win from time to time but way more often than not todays result will become the norm. And I'm extremely happy about it. What a Christmas!!!

  • Tim Tebow the person is a good person. Tim Tebow the QB is very very bad. He may be one of the few cases where his ability to create and keep plays alive will hurt more than help. Mike Vick suffers from this as well. They are so good at getting out of trouble they dont understand sometimes its okay to take a sack and live to fight another day.

  • Tim Tebow the person still might be in the playoffs.

  • I really can't say he's a bad QB... he's just a different kind of QB. He's a football player first and that's what I like... he's a tough competitor and does whatever he can to win. That may not always equate to great passing numbers, but combined with his rushing... he usually, gets the job done. He's a team player who's earned the trust and respect of his teammates... and his kind of overall leadership on and off the field, plays a great role in how Denver plays as a "team". He and the team are experiencing some growing pains, as expected, but they battle hard and Tebow plays like a warrior. He has the heart of a lion... and his team feeds off that. I look for them to only get better with Tebow... and I expect them to be a playoff team for years to come.
