Ummm... Excuse me... BUT WTF IS THIS!!!!

  • Does anyone know what the hell this is about... what is this "Darkest Day" thing that has people from around the world already booking rooms here in Kentucky for August 21, 2017?

WAVE 3 Investigates 'The Darkest Day' – Monday at 11pm - wave3.com-Louisville News, Weather & Sports

WAVE 3 News wouldn't normally investigate a news event that is 5 years away. This is an exception.

  • Now this is where a funny racial anecdote would fit. If you're gonna go racial with jokes they better be funny. Like Daniel Tosh.

  • Looks like a bunch of idiots are going to go to the spot where there was an alien abduction so they can see it be dark during daytime for like 2 minutes. Or something like that. Whatever, but I'd like to congratulate the people who are renting hotels just two experience two minutes of being in the dark. What, they can't lock themselves in a basement somewhere and save $500? Shoot, lets start selling t-shirts. Anyone with me?

  • There's going to be a full eclipse here on that day. Although I'm pretty sure that JJ thinks today is the darkest day.

    Ha..HA!

Not really... with an election this close, neither side can justify a mandate for their respective agendas. If there is anything at all to be considered a mandate (based on the will of the people)... it would have to be "compromise". So, it didn't matter who the winner was... it's time to start working together and stop with the divisiveness.... OR ELECT LIBERTARIANS!!!!

Darkest day? Nah... just not very bright. coffee

When neither Romney nor Ryan could carry their home states, the 1st time in 40yrs that's occurred in a Presidential Election...I might call that a mandate.

When the Romney/Ryan went 1 of 8 in the swing states...After having the REP SuperPac's out spend the DEMS by a LARGE margin ... I might call that a mandate.

When Romney/Ryan can't get more votes than McCain/Palin did in 2008..After having REP's spend the last 3+yrs working to make Obama a 1 term President...I might call that a mandate.

When the REP's lose 25 of 33 down ticket Senate races...Some in DEM hotbeds like Montana, Indiana, West Virginia & Wisconsin (Ryan's home state)....I might call that a mandate.

And as for this being a close race...No, it's really not close at all.

Obama/Biden pulled away & took the Electoral College by a wide margin... 332-206 in 2012 = continuation of the original 2008 Mandate! (Bush barely scrapped by both times. W/ a high water EC mark of 286)... Obama/Biden is up right at 3Million votes nationally....W/ 30% of CA totals never added to the REPORTED final tally..(.Everywhere I've looked - Even Fox - it's only listed CA as 70%)...So, there's probably close to 1M in vote gains to be added to the Presidents totals.

As it is...3M...Well, that's a larger margin of victory than that of 17 different Presidential elections since 1872. Truman, Roosevelt & Bush (v Kerry) had 3M vote victories..But then again, Kennedy only won by 120K... And Bush lost the popular vote to Gore by over 500K...Never stopped any of those guys from getting their way on policy!

So, The people have spoken again!!!

And what they are saying is...Hey, REP party, if you want to continue to be relevant in American politics...It's about time you start working w/ the President & coming to the table to get something dome for the country & for the people...or in 2014 / 2016, it will get UGLY!

The REP party better wake up & move back to the center on a slew of the core issues that have been kidnapped by the TeaParty "Patriots" & the Ultra Right Wing Conservatives ...The demographics of America are changing!!! It's no longer 1962...Or 1982...It's 2012 & the # of minority voters moving to/coming of age in: CA, AZ, NEV, VA, OH, NC, GA, FL & TX... will soon make those states solid DEM strongholds ...And when that happens, and it will soon, the REP party will no longer be a national player in American politics!!!

Yup, yup, and yup. That's what I've been sayin. The Libertarians JJ is talking about is the Tea Party. The exact problem with the repugs and the country overall. The teabaggers are a big reason why they took such a beating. And why they'll continue to lose national elections if the moderate republicans don't put them to sleep. We dems are stupid though. Me, you, and everyone at msnbc are telling the repugs what the problem is and how to fix it. We should be shutting up and watch them split like a hateful amoeba. I personally think the republicans should kick out everyone calling themselves a teabagger. If they want to legislate their extreme right wing agenda let them form their own real party instead of glomming on the repugs.

The thing is they simply can't change. They can try putting a bow on it and present it better but what they need to change; what the country has resoundingly rejected are many of their core beliefs. Unchangeable core beliefs. No abortion under any circumstances is an example. Not all of them go out there and say "if a pregnancy results from rape it's what god wants" but many and more of them believe that. Thinking that half the country are lazy moochers dependent on government is in their dna. It's part of them. It's what they've been told since they were children. Being bigots against homosexuals is part of who they are. Most blacks and mexicans are lazy moochers that feel the government owes them something is part of their heart and soul. I just don't see them changing these things. They can't. They can just try to put lipstick on the pig. Like I said in another thread, in 4-8 years Texas will be a swing state. When that happens the party is over for the repugs.

Ahh. Sounds kinda lonely. I'll throw ya a virgin or 2. But only if you promise to cut their chests open and eat their still beating hearts. I'm not down with wasting virgins. That's not how I roll.
