Be forewarned, you just about need the subtitles to be "ON" for that movie too (to understand the majority of what the actors are saying........when they're not shooting someone).

I don't get people's obsession with it. Anytime this subject comes up people start screaming about Boondock Saints. It's like the male equivalent of Sleepless In Seattle. It's basically someone trying and failing to make a Tarantino film. It's Reservoir Dogs without a plot, great characters, great screenplay, great director, and great actors. But if you like violence simply for violence's sake you might like it. I gave it a shot with all the hub bub surrounding it. Suffice it to say I thought it sucked. Like laughably bad. But hey, different strokes for different folks. Give it a shot, you might like it.

Dude, That movie you referred to is, "The Usual Suspects"....usually.

The "Unusual Suspects" is likely how the Lexington PD discusses the roll-ups made in the middle of the week......or it's a porn film.

  • Yes sir you are correct. F'd that one up didn't I.

  • Usual Suspects is a good movie. I'm not sure it's underrated though. I think it won the oscar for best screenplay.

Yeah, Usual Suspects is incredible. Problem is, though, I don't think its "underrated" by anyone. Everyone I talk to puts it in their top 10, if not 5, movies they've ever seen. Now if we are going to have a "best movies" thread, it definitely goes in there.

I agree. Just trying to come up with something.

  • I cant believe Snatch is underrated, every man and his dog has seen it back home! If you like that you've got to see Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, that was the one before Snatch and its just as good!

I like Natural Born Killers, Taxi Driver, Reservoir Dogs, Snatch. I like violence as long as it's smart and well done. And apparently you know more about Mary Poppins than I do. I've never seen it. I bet it's better than that crapfest Boondock Saints though.

  • I saw the newer Straw Dogs the other night--I thought it was good. The original was great (but very well-known)

Win-Win--I was surprised it didn't get more recognition

The Big Year (Steve Martin/Jack Black)

Reservoir Dogs is massively overrated its good but everyone fawns over it and it aint that good, Taxi Driver is pretty good, love Snatch and never seen NBK. Can't believe u don't like Boondock though, awesome film. I've heard Boondock 2 is crap but I ain't seen it!

Natural Born Killers is about the most violent film in history and it's great. You have to check it out. A lot of people think NBK is just gratuitiously violent. It's actually a movie about the media and how they make heroes out of even the most horrible serial killers. Something I caught that none of my friends did when it came out is that it is a modern day version of Bonnie and Clyde. The opening sequence is an updated version of the car scenes in Bonnie and Clyde. Bonnie and Clyde were hyped up by the media, killed cops etc. I think Tarantino basically just took the story of Bonnie and Clyde and just updated it with NBK.

Boondock Saints 2 is really funny. It's so bad. It makes Boondock Saints look like Citizen Kane and you know how I feel about Boondock Saints lol

  • Boondock Saints is a good one.

Step Brothers and Talladega Nights were alright.

    Anchorman was good.

I don't remember thinking The Other Guys was anything special.

The movie about John Holmes with Val Kilmer is awesome and so is the Doors movie. Usually like anything with him.

I would say moreso offended, but I was pissed to be honest. It did a good job of evoking emotions.
