This video: A cover version of Boston's "Foreplay/Long Time" presented in split screen. Jon Baglo playing all the instruments. Spencer Needham doing all the bg vocals. And featuring the amazing David Steele on lead vocal. Here's David's web site: http://www.e-session-singer.com/ Note re: the drums... You're hearing take two... a continuous performance with no punch-ins or fixes. Unfortunately, I could not be there to videotape it. So Jon did ONE more take just for the video camera. Hence the discrepancies . I'd say 3 or 4 mismatches during a re-enactment of over 7.5 minutes of drumming is pretty good. Recording engineer: Jon Baglo. Mix engineer: Dale Baglo. Steadicam & video editing: Dale Baglo. Jon is forming a band: "Subject Zero" Become a fan here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Subject-Zero/104044562967334?ref=ts
http://www.youtube.com/v/6H57pWC5rvkWow... that kid is amazing! He can't be much older than mid to late teens... and loaded with musical and instrumental talents. CRAZY!
As some of you know, I'm one of the biggest Boston fans on the planet... so for that young lad to pull off a "one man band" rendition of, perhaps, the greatest song ever (a personal favorite of mine)... it just blows me away. It wasn't perfect, but damn... it was impressive to say the least. If he don't already have an agent after that youtube release, then, it's official... nothing makes sense anymore and there is no more justice in America.
I must agree he is one of the most talented kids I've ever heard doing a cover ... but that he plays all the instruments is freaking mind blowing - hell, I can't even play the kazoo and to think today is National Kazoo Day. Not to be overlooked is the vocal arrangements of David Steele and Spencer Needham.
Equally as impressive to me is the cover of Kansas' Carry on my Wayward Son which I have linked for people's convenience.
NEWS UPDATE: Jon is touring with Funk Vigilante in July. For cities/dates: http://www.funkvigilante.com. This video: New STEREO mix, with brighter, better picture. Jon's One Man Band covers the Kansas hit. Jon plays all the instruments, and Spencer does all the vocals. (original file was uploaded August 2007, 4 months after Jon turned 16)
