Coming off a disheartening loss to Western Kentucky, the Kentucky football team got back on the practice field in preparation for this Saturday's trip to 'The Swamp' to face Florida. After a poor practice on Tuesday, Kentucky coach Joker Phillips said Wednesday's effort was much improved.
"(Tuesday) was bad, that's the way to say it," Phillips said. "A lot of backups were practicing for us and we got a lot of (starters) back today. It was a lot better today than yesterday. I think it was bad because we had a lot of backups in roles they weren't used to playing with some of the guys beside them. It can't happen though, regardless of how or why. It can't happen."
Now the Cats must face a Florida squad that Phillips believes is returning to form after a pair of sub-standard seasons.
"This team is a lot more explosive in terms of speed and power," Phillips said. "They've got a lot of speed and size. They look like the Florida of old with a lot of speed at every position."
