Randle chose Kentucky over Kansas, Florida and Texas.
With the nation's top point guard (Andrew Harrison), shooting guard (Aaron Harrison) and center (Dakari Johnson) already in tow, Kentucky and coach John Calipari added the nation's top power forward in Plano (Tex.) Prestonwood 5-star Julius Randle.
The 6-foot-9, 250-pound forward, ranked as the No. 2 overall prospect in the 2013 class by 247Sports, chose the Wildcats over Kansas, Florida and Texas during a live announcement at his school Wednesday.
"It's a great system. They have a lot of great players there and it's the best fit for me," Randle said live on ESPNU after he donned a blue and black UK hat. "That's where it was in my heart. I wanted to be at Kentucky."
Randle gives Kentucky six of the top 13 prospects in the country according to 247Sports in what some consider the best recruiting haul in modern college basketball history.
He says he has no problem playing alongside other great players.
"I did it this summer when I played for the USA team," Randle said. "To be able to battle every day in practice is only going to make me better. It was a plus for me."
